3D computer graphics software refers to programs used to create 3D computer-generated imagery. This article covers only some of the software used.
 
Uses

3D modelers are used in a wide variety of industries. The medical industry uses them to create detailed models of organs. The movie industry uses them to create and manipulate characters and objects for animated and real-life motion pictures. The video game industry uses them to create assets for video games. The science sector uses them to create highly detailed models of chemical compounds. The architecture industry uses them to create models of proposed buildings and landscapes. The engineering community uses them to design new devices, vehicles and structures as well as a host of other uses. There are typically many stages in the "pipeline" that studios and manufacturers use to create 3D objects for film, games, and production of hard goods and structures.

Stanley Ohikhuare Set to Release First Nigerian Animation Movie.

Staying glued to his I-Mac Apple computer with his hands fidgeting with the mouse, the artist talked on in his studio called Stanleesworld. One moment he seems to be meditating with the characters he is creating and the next, he is laughing and mimicking some his animated beings. 
Stanley Ohikhuare reveals that he is not only a trained artist, but was born with the talent.

Life Changing Blender Training in Nigeria

Apart from the fact that Blender is extremely good software, I also view it as a very strong enabling technology: Blender is able to provide people – who would normally not be able to afford 3D training – the opportunity to start a career in 3D.

Most of Africa falls in the above category. Therefore, when I was recently invited as a Blender Foundation Certified Trainer to present a 7-day introductory Blender workshop in Nigeria, I decided to go despite rumours about the country – and was pleasantly surprised by what I experienced there at ground level…

Nigeria is a tropical country, so it was very hot – even though it was only Spring. Fortunately, I presented the workshop at Media Village in Jos, which is on the Nigerian plateau – and therefore one of the cooler spots.

As a South African “Westerner”, I experienced the conditions on the ground as quite challenging, but it was very obvious that they were very used to it and have learnt to live with it. Some of the hurdles we had to overcome were:

From Cape Town to Lagos, Animation Blossoms

Lagos — REVOLUTION Media, conveners of the annual ground breaking Lagos Comics and Cartoons Carnival, have announced their plans in collaboration with Image Animation Studios - a Cape Town, South Africa based powerhouse for multimedia communications to present a three-day workshop in 3D communication.
